Today was one of the best tropo DX days I've ever seen. Between overnight and early this morning DTV DX reached up to 762 miles. Seven new logs were added bringing the total to 570 DTVs.

    KMPX 30/29, Decatur, TX @ 760 miles
    KDAF 34/4, Dallas, TX @ 762 miles
    KTXD 46/47, Greenville, TX @ 762 miles
    KDFI 36/27, Dallas, TX @ 762 miles

Apparently it is the beginning of the Es season as the Milford, IL setup snagged another DTV. This time it was received by one of the two tuners of the autologging setup while I was outdoors mowing the lawn. With the Es map indicating some activity early this afternoon, I left the antennas aimed in that general direction.

    KTVM 6/6, Butte, MT @ 1300 miles. Received at 2:08 p.m. EDT.

I wasn't expecting any good tropo conditions overnight, so I slept in until after 6:30 this morning. I was very surprised to find DTVs logged at over 600 miles via the autologger setup between midnight and shortly after 6 a.m. EDT. Nothing new, as they were all relogs. Two Springfield, MO stations at 373 miles were logged just after midnight. Then between 4 and 6 a.m. stations from LA and AR were logged:

KTAL 15/6, Texarkana, TX (transmitter in LA) 640 miles
KMSS 34/33, Shreveport, LA 652 miles
KPXJ 21/21, Minden, LA 651 miles
Four DTVs from Little Rock, AR 483 - 496 miles

Then at 7:48 a.m. the autologger received a very weak and brief signal from WMPN 20/29, Jackson, MS @ 603 miles.

Es catch this evening at 6 p.m. EDT: WTSP 4/10, St. Petersburg, FL @ 863 miles. This is a 300 watt translator for WTSP-10 with transmitter north of Tampa/St. Pete near Hernando, FL. It was in for only a few seconds. I did see a very quick burst of video, but due to the remote status of this setup, the video wasn't up long enough to get a screenshot. It was received via the manual tuner and the scanning tuner so it appeared on the Rabbitears Google Map. New log #571.

Some morning tropo from the Milford, IL remote DX site didn't stretch out as far as I thought it would but it did hit a TV market seldom seen from this location, Bowling Green, KY. It allowed for a new log:

WKYU (Western Kentucky Univ. - PBS) 18/24, Bowling Green, KY @ 255 miles.

Also saw nearby WPBM-CD, 46/31, Scottsville, KY @ 275 miles.

I've been out of state testing a new location (western IL) for another remote controlled DTV DX site. As a result, I got a little behind on posting.

On Wednesday evening, June 7, the Milford, IL remote site autologger received two new DTV logs via Es. Luckily I had been watching the DX maps site and noticed activity from the northeast so I aimed the antennas in that direction while away.

    CFTF 4, Forestville, QC @ 1071 miles. 1.9 kW. New log #573
CHAU 5, Carleton, QC @ 1178 miles. New log #574

One new log Sat. a.m., June 11, with KCCI 8/8, Des Moines, IA @ 322 miles. It took this site 23 months to receive it. Received by the scanning tuner and posted on the Rabbitears Google Map.

Doesn't look like the signal lasted very long either. Its the blue line on left of graph. Actually a great catch! The high VHF channels can sometimes be difficult to catch.

indysteve, can you watch the DTV stations on your computer at home from the Remote DTV Site that is in another location? If you can what do you need to have to be able to do this. Thanks.
