Default FM DX in NW PA Dec 5 and 6

Here's a little summary with audio clips from FM DXing on Tue Dec 5th and Wed Dec 6th in Ridgway, PA

NW Corner of the state, halfway between State College PA and Olean, NY. 2000 feet in elevation with a Sangean HDT1 and 5 element yagi 15 feet off the ground, hanging off my porch.
I wouldn't call any of this extreme or super DX, but the situation(s) make it a bit interesting.

105.5 WGOJ Conneaut, OH 6KW Class at 99 miles to my NW. WMKX Brookville, about 30 miles to my south was off the air this morning. 747AM with legal id 13 minutes later in the clip straight up at 8am

WLER-FM 97.7 Butler, PA. A 6KW Class A about 71 miles to my SW, one dial spot away form 50KW powerhouse WDDH 97.5, captured before WDDH even went off the air Tuesday.

WBXQ-FM 94.3 Patton, PA A 6KW Equivalent Class A at about 51 miles away. One dial channel over from W233BS 94.5, a super power super height translator only 1 mile from my antenna.

WPCL-FM 97.3 Spangler.. er "Northern Cambria", Pennsylvania. A 6kw equivalent Class A about 62 miles to my southwest. One dial click over from 50KW powerhouse WDDH 97.5, and a former simulcast station for 97.5 Saint Marys, PA in a former life, when it was 97.5 KYN.

    Welcome back Paul

I am 190 miles southeast of your location in Easton, PA; within the Lehigh Valley area.

What make, model is your five element yagi? Also, what azimuth is it pointed towards?

Are you still an active AM Dxer? If so, do you have a AM receiver that goes up to 1710 kHz?

    Hey Mike,

I am not doing any AM DX right now, but not because I don't want to. When I moved in and set up my HF gear, the noise level was horrendous.. and I haven't spend any time trying to track it down.

My antenna is actually a 5 element log periodic, so my apologies. It is a BEXT LOG R FM. It's meant for FM transmission, but a broadcast engineer i know didn't need it anymore and sold it to me for a really good price.

It points either north or west of my location

Your engineer set you up with an excellent commercial LOG antenna.

Is the polarization horizontal or vertical?

Both, actually... it's set up in such a way I can change it.. I have to change the polarization and azimuth, manually.. but that only takes 30 seconds.

I have found that a vertical polarization creates some overload from WKBI 93.9 and W233BS 94.5 on the same tower a mile away from me and also some overload from WRVI 91.1 about half a mile away from me... that seriously dissipates when its horizontal.
