All times and dates strictly UT [4 hours ahead of `ELT` during EDT; when changing times one must also change the dates for events in the 00-04 UT period to the previous date by ELT].

Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only or PL-880; NRD-545 with ALA-330S inside E-W or inside randomwire N-S; Nissan stock caradio as specified; IC-R75 with E-W longwire

These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimes, utility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as
    http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:
    http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.p...-Hauser/page59
[over 226,000 views! as of June 29, 2017]

These logs are in four sections, Canada [if any], Oklahoma [if any], rest of USA [if any], unidentified [if any], separated by ======= Within each, they are in frequency order

** U S A. 900, June 25 at 0559 UT, an English station looping N/S, ``Newstalk 900``, fade for call letters, 0600 UT bong and CBS news, soon losing out to Spanish, probably XEOK Monterrey. The *only* fit by direxion, network and slogan is per NRC AM Log: KJSK, Columbus NE, 1000/65 watts U1. No fade back up toward end of news. Perhaps they were really on 65 watts and I was lucky. None of the TX stations, nor Minnesota, Saskatchewan match (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

[Mostly, NOT, but this contains all my non-domestic MW DX logs. Must get busy with some real XEs]

** BENIN. 1566, June 23 at 0446, JBA carrier still at 0502, presumed TWR. Even weaker than when I heard it June 21 at 0353-0412.

Regarding 1566 kHz carrier heard twice, presumed TWR, I belatedly check the city-to-city distance between Enid and Parakou:
    10326.32 km = 6416.48 statute miles.
But WRTH shows a more precise transmitter site is Serarou, unfound in first atlas I pick up, but is in the database of distancefromto, only:
    10313.19 km = 6408.32 statute miles. Call it ``over 10 megameters``.

Not audible just before 0545* June 25, maybe too late. Parakou sunrise today 0532, and at 9.34 degrees north, varies only about a semihour later in the ``winter`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

    (Wolfgang Bueschel, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Shux; no icons for coffee shops nearby; o well, indicates single tower, so non-direxional; despite an awful lot of Atlantic not far to the south.

1566, June 26 at 0507, JBA carrier on the R75; at 0512 not on the NRD-545 or DX-398, but by 0515 detectable on the NRD, presumed TWR Parakou. Nick Hall-Patch in BC and Don Moman in Alberta were hearing this again last night with some audio, also suggesting 1296 Sudan, which is 600 kW further east so fading out earlier; not here. June 27 at quick 0311 check, no 1566 audible --- oops, that`s too early, before nominal *0315 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1310, June 30 at 0222 UT, ad for Madisonville, also mentions Hopkins County, which match in KY; ergo, this is WTTL, U2 1500/500 watts but with a CP for U1 1500/40, per last year`s NRC AM Log. FCC AM Query now shows it`s licensed for the latter, no longer a CP, so nice to get a 40-watter, if we can believe that. Madisonville is in western KY, halfway between Evansville IN and Clarksville TN. Not to be confused with Hopkinsville KY which is in a different county to the south (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1580, June 30 at 0217 UT, adstring including area code 479, 474-0006 for Able Construxion; 0218 UT a ``101.1 Flashback`` about a historical gunfight; 101.1sports.com ? Movemart, 646-MOVE, movemartinc.com another ad for Able roofing, mentions Oklahoma, 101.1; 0220 UT finally some music, a torch song. AC 479 means this is Arkansas, where we have KHGG Fort Smith (almost Oklahoma). NRC AM Log shows it as U1 1000/49 watts, TLK/SPT, ``The Sports Hog`` but no FM. Lots of QRM but now well after sunset I would lean closer to 1000 watts.

WTFDA FM Database does not show an AM // but instead: [K266BS //KHGG-FM 101.1 VAN BUREN AR 0.25 0.25 83.0 0.0 35-26-51 94-21-54 THE SPORTS HOG 103.1 [sic] SPORTS]

    Yes, there is a non-translator on 103.1, so why do they keep announcing 101.1, a mere translator? [KHGG-FM 103.1 WALDRON AR 6.1 6.1 412.0 412.0 34-58-44 93-56-42 3F20 - THE SPORTS HOG 103.1 SPORTS]

Because Waldron is some 40 miles SSE of Fort Smith, not good enough! while Van Buren is truly a suburb right next to Fort Smith. The `real` FM station is neglected not only by the original FM, but eclipsed by its translator in The City? Not exactly:

1580 website linked from radio-locator.com http://sportshog1031.com/ says nothing about a 101.1, except logo grafix for sibling stations include: ``101.1 FM THE JUDGE Fort Smith`s Country`` --- so apparently the Fort Smith Radio Group has recently flipped things around. Could be HD2 is also involved here, but what really is on main channel of 103.1 now? Anyhow, day and night coverage maps for 1580 show that site definitely on the AR side of the border (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1190.05 approx., June 30 at 0225 UT, off-frequency station here; better on the N/S antenna than the E/W, and employing all the splitoff tuning techniques of the NRD-545 (notch filter, very tight selectivity = narrow bandwidth, passband tuning, on USB), I *think* it`s the one in Spanish, such as XECT, Contacto 1190 in Monterrey NL, 10000/100 watts per IRCA 2015 Mexican Log (when will there be a 2017?), but IIRC when last heard it was not off-frequency. There were six further Mexicans on 1190 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Here's a piece of the Fort Smith puzzle:

You may need to contact Fort Smith Radio Group to figure this one out as they seem to have two generations of websites going.

** MEXICO. July 14 at 1110 UT, I happen to awaken, and instead of immediately turning over for another two hours, I turn on and tune in for some long-missed sunrise skip (SRS) from México, since my sunrise is not until 1125 today. As for SR in various Mexican cities, incredibly,
    http://www.gaisma.com/en/dir/mx-country.html
includes a number of locations one has never heard of, but omits decent-sized cities like Los Mochis, Ciudad Cuauhtémoc (and not even Chihuahua capital!); but safe to assume their SRs are considerably later than mine. Good conditions, with only an occasional lightning crash, not nearby. First a quick bandscan from the bottom finds SS probable XEs on: 540, 560, 610, 640, 650, 660, 690 (two, despite KGGF), 720, 780 (under Pete 94-3, Stillwater), 790, 800 (vs KQCV), 1030, at least. Specifically:

710, July 14 at 1112, Low German preacher about Jesus, a dead giveaway for XEDP as logged with him many times before. Now it`s on-frequency with no het, while I had noticed the 710-minus het in bedtime bandscan circa 0600 UT. By 1125 recheck he`s done, over to a YL DJ in Spanish, plus ``La Ranchera de Cuauhtémoc`` jingle. This one is listed as only 100 watts at night; yeah, sure. As previously researched, they switch between two different transmitter sites, one of which is significantly off-frequency.

650, July 14 at 1117, Los Mochis ad at tuneby, so XETNT as expected.

790, July 14 at 1119, Spanish news about Nuevo León. One thing for sure, there is no 790 XE in NL, but in a bunch of other states.

770, July 14 at 1126, ``Sinaloense`` state song, 1127 ID for ``Grupo Chávez Radio, su radiodifusora local, la voz de esperanza``; 1128 TC for 5:29; ``Los Cuarenta``, rock music. This is XEREV also in Los Mochis. The ``40`` brand has dropped ``Principales``, which was really a cumbersome translation for ``Top``. We should not assume that La Voz de Esperanza is a real station name now altho they did utter that (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 890, Friday July 14 at 1600-1614 UT, KTLR OKC with reactivated `Broad Spectrum Radio`. Easily heard here in daytime coverage area, but not on alleged FM // 103.7, which is really K279CR: how can that exist with 100 kW rimshotter from Anadarko KVSP on 103.5?

James Branum of BSR notified us yesterday he was resuming produxion starting with this weekly quarter-hour on KTLR, so I make a point of listening, altho he has already posted his rough script at
    http://broadspectrumradio.com/2017/0...-july-14-2017/
whence it may also be downloaded. Notable excerpt:

``The new vision of the BSR project will revolve around 4 principles: Solidarity, Socialism, Spirituality and Science.

Let me explain a bit more about each of these 4 S’s…

First, by Solidarity, I mean the idea that this is not a neutral media outlet. BSR does take sides, and we seek to be on the side of the oppressed, the marginalized and the forgotten, both locally and around the world.

Second, by Socialism, I mean the idea that I first heard expressed by the National Lawyers Guild, that human rights should have primacy over property rights, and hence our economic structures should exist to serve human needs and not human greed.

I also should say for those who are scared of this particularly "S-Word," that my kind of Socialism is grassroots, democratic, and to the extent possible, nonviolent in nature.

Third, by Spirituality, I mean the idea of "a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves" and the "search for meaning in life."

Spirituality does include religion, but it includes more including the arts, music, literature, as well as some of the secular forms of spiritual practice, such as non religious meditation.

And finally, by Science, I mean the quest for knowledge by way of the scientific method, but I also more specifically seek to explore the citizen scientist concept, the hobbyists and other individual experimenters who work independently and/or collaboratively in discovery. And because of my own interests, I will especially look at science through the eyes of the DIY/maker culture, particularly in the areas of ham radio, shortwave radio listening and related hobbies.``

He plans to resume SW with a monthly one-hour show by end of July. No details yet but previously employed WBCQ, WINB, and two mini-stations in Germany and Australia.

Welcome back, James; I endorse your worldview and urge to provide such programming to counter all the crap, especially on US SW.

And also on KTLR! Earlier at 1134 UT they had a talkshow with Angie & Malcolm, americaoutloud.com making fun of Al Gore and his ``brand`` of Global Warming. You`ll be sorry! (Or your grandkids will curse you) (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1020, July 14 at 0557 UT, gospel huxter in Spanish making 5-6 Hz SAH with nearby KOKP Perry OK, no doubt usual KCKN Roswell NM, relaying Radiovisión Cristiana, WWRV 1330 NYC, and also as usual failing to null its 50 kW(?) toward KDKA and us. I recently saw a listing in some MW DX publication showing KCKN as ``silent`` ---- it comes and goes, and may well have been silent at some previous date not specified (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
