    Default Hello everyone

Hi to all, just thought I would introduce myself, I'm into shortwave and AM dxing most of all, have been for about 15 years now. I don't have a lot of high end equipment so have made a lot of things myself, which I love to do. Right now I have a Radio Shack DX394 table top reciever with a 80ft inverted V with a MFJ antenna tuner as my main set right now. I'm also using various portable and pocket radio's right now for some different kinda dxing with my various loops, both homemade and bought for AM dxing. Using a Kaito 1102, GE Super Radio3, wish I had a 2!, Radio Shack pocket AM/FM which is unbeilevably selective? for a pocket, #12-586, a Kaito WRX911, love that one, a Sony ICFS10MK2, and gonna try one of those new Tecsuns with the DSP. Well, see ya around.

Same here. I have the Kaito 1102, Superadio II & III---but the II might be dying out, as I have had it over 25 years I think. It doesn't have the X band either, but its sensitivity blew away the III.

I was training for my current job in Norman OK in January 2006, and rented a car to tour OKC, especially the site where the 1995 bombing took place. It's a wonderful memorial now.

Note: I greatly miss Larry Neal's "Wax Museum" show on KOMA, which streamed in late 90s/early 2000s.

Welcome, Lowbuck! I do mostly AM but also some FM and shortwave too. I use the DX-440 for AM. It is lousy for FM, though, and shortwave is pretty much out because the antenna is broken on it, irreparably, I think. So, most FM I do get is from car radio or home stereo. I do some AM on the car and stereo too, as I cannot do the x-band with the antenna broken, and also because some frequencies are clearer on the other radios for AM. Hope to hear about some of your AM logs especially!

Thanks for the warm welcome and hope to get some more interesting AM dx logs on here.
