I was thinking about starting this today myself. I've been seriously chasing Es for 11 seasons now and this is by far the worst. The openings have been mostly brief, mostly low-MUF and mostly weaker signals. I have less than half of my previous low total of new FM Es loggings, none over 1400 miles and none out of the US.

I will have to agree with you. Early June had so much promise and then it all tanked. If it weren't for me chasing after analogs on ch2 & 3, I'd have no Es loggings at all.
TV Es is beginning to show signs of life, but just in time for the end of skip season. It stinks.

I can't say I remember a season with as little active skip in the FM range as this year so far. I say "so far" because I guess there's always hope! If this were the old analog days maybe we would have seen a lot of skip on Channels 2 and 3 this year but not much higher.

One FM opening to Vermont, Quebec and Nova Scotia on June 7 and that was it.

Absolutely no Es, in my little corner, so far.

I said it was "Bad", definitely NOT what I wanted this year. Two openings with IDs, 7/18 with KACV 89.9 and KSMT 102.1, and 7/24 with KZZP 104.7 and KPKX 98.7. Worst season I have ever experienced. At this rate, there will be one big opening next year and nothing else but TV2 the rest of the year...

No Es at all for me. Although, with the enhanced tropo, it feels like I've logged just about every FM in Maine and Connecticut, between my work and home QTHs.

If there had been a choice "exceptional" I would have chosen it. The Es season was nothing short of spectacular for me. A change in equipment (and alot of luck) played a big roll I believe. The following are
all ID'ed catches, mostly duplicates from day to day of course.
April- 8 Es catches (5 new) including my all-time longest Apr 24th, TIIVS-4 San Jose, Costa Rica (1513 miles).
May- 23 Es catches (8 new)
June- 138 Es catches (17 new)- best day June 28th (19 Ided catches)-1 DTV Es relog
July- 112 Es catches (8 new) including 2 DTV Es relogs
    Aug- 17 Es catches

For me personally...a season to remember. Duplicating it may prove difficult.
