You guys are right... The FCC won't be happy until the entire RF spectrum sounds like 27 MCs during an E-skip opening.

And I'm going to have to grow up during this....
I should of been born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, still google kinda, computers etc.. And of course ANALOG TV

New lpfm in Janesville on 103.5, luckily they haven't went on the air yet but when they do, no more WKSC Chicago for sure, likely no more WXSS Milwaukee and likely three less DX channels.

I have a cell tower disguised as a flag pole I can see from my window .4 mi from me to my NW, a tower owned by charter with cell on it very likely along with other things 1mi to my NW, another cell disguised as a flag pole .9 mi to my east, a tower like charters with multiple things on it 2.6 mi to my west and there has to be more I don't know of.

So it probably plays a big role in why I don't get Madison DTV channels well at all from my house...

Any way I can measure it with my sdr?

and the noise level by the cells is -46db and at 97mhz its -58db...

As if I haven't had enough trouble with one local cell site, now, it appears a second one is soon to be built...

Cant stop "progress" Ed. Translators and LPFMs killed my FM band. It looks like cell towers are doing it to you.

Cell phone towers are a non-issue when it comes to DX. Just get the Channel Master LTE filter. Whether you have one nearby tower or 50 nearby towers, it doesn't matter. The filter gets all the overloaders out.

Jim... This new site will be about 1/2 mile from my house... The original site is about 3/4 of a mile.

Mike... "Progress" is not one of the words I have in mind. I can swear in about seven different languages (including Klingon) and I've already used up all of those words. :-)

cd... I've been threatening to re-connect my terminated loop array (K9AY version) and get back to some AM / 160-M DXing.

Andrew... Eventually, after re-pack, I'll deal with the impending QRM (filter everything above ch 36) but, in the mean time, I suspect the new wireless stuff will clog DX-able channels during the transition period. This is gonna be a problem.
