Various FM Catches from bdalbor (Vol. I Redux)

Last night (1/18/2023) was a little interesting for me, as this is the second time I've experienced tropo to the north as extreme as this. Here's a log of most of the catches from that night:

    - KMVX-FM 101.9 / Monroe, LA / 97kW / 148 mi. [relog]
    - KMXH-FM 93.9 / Alexandria, LA / 7.3kW / 91 mi. [relog]
    - KZRZ-FM 98.3 / West Monroe, LA / 50kW / 180 mi.
    - KAPB-FM 97.7 / Marksville, LA / 6kW / 65 mi.
    - Over local KVOL-AM repeater, K249EY.
    - WBAD-FM 94.3 / Leland, MS / 50kW / 239 mi.
    - KWCL-FM 96.7 / Oak Grove, LA / 23kW / 195 mi.
    - KQUS-FM 97.5 / Hot Springs, AR / 100kW / 309 mi.
    - KMYY-FM 92.3 / Rayville, LA / 25kW / 166 mi.
    - KTHT-FM 97.1 / Cleveland, TX / 100kW / 191 mi.
    - This was interesting, as while the tropo path was mostly going north during this time, this was the only Texan outlier during the entire tropo session.
    - KQID-FM 93.1 / Alexandria, LA / 97kW / 111 mi.
    - Plus all three HD sub-channels!
    - KBAN-FM 91.5 / DeRidder, LA / 20.5kW / 83 mi.
    - WJLV-FM 94.7 / Jackson, MS / 97kW / 178 mi.
    - KSSN-FM 95.7 / Little Rock, AR / 92kW / 337 mi.
    - Tentative, as the only indicator for a bumper was for the After Midnight show. But it lined up with the web-stream I referenced at the time, so I'm a little confident in this station being the one I caught.
    - WBBV-FM 101.3 / Vicksburg, MS / 13kW / 168 mi.
    - KSLO-FM 105.3 / Simmesport, LA / 3kW / 58 mi.
    - KBKK-FM 105.5 / Ball, LA / 6kW / 101 mi. [relog]
    - W234DH-FM 94.7 / Norco, LA / 250w / 51 mi.
    - WMPK-FM 93.5 / Summit, MS / 6kW / 123 mi.

There was a surprising amount of eastern tropo yesterday morning on my end, but I was only able to catch the last little bit of it before it dissipated.

    - WPCS-FM 89.5 / Pensacola, FL / 95kW / 257 mi. (tentative)
    - The only indicator given for this was an SRN News segment near the top of the hour. This was the only station feasable given the tropo path at the time.
    - WOKK-FM 97.1 / Meridian, MS / 100kW / 243 mi. [relog]
    - WPAP-FM 92.5 / Panama City, FL / 100kW / 379 mi. (farthest east station caught via tropo!)
    - WFSY-FM 98.5 / Panama City, FL / 96kW / 379 mi.

This was when the Florida tropo was starting to die off:
    - WTIX-FM 94.3 / Galliano, LA / 100kW / 124 mi. [relog]
    - WEZB-FM 97.1 / New Orleans, LA / 99kW / 108 mi. [relog]
    - WABD-FM 97.5 / Mobile, AL / 100kW / 242 mi. [relog]
    - WQNZ-FM 95.1 / Natchez, MS / 100kW / 102 mi. [relog]

If only I had gotten up earlier and received something even more impressive, like a station beyond the panhandle of Florida, going south! That would have been awesome, but this will suffice! I will edit in two audio files later.

      Broc, that is impressive tropo.

South Louisiana is a great place for both Es and tropo.

Finally got two excellent E-Skip sessions in this season. One yesterday to Mexico, and this one today to the east coast near Virginia, Maryland, and even up to Pennsylvania! Logs should be coming soon in another post.

During my small absence from this forum, I also managed to catch tropo to mainland Florida for the first time ever! WWRM-FM 94.9 in Tampa Bay on April 4, 2023. I've attached two pictures, one with proof of my catch to Tampa via SDR Console, and another of the logs I have today so far from the E-Skip session today. Again, logs of that will be coming soon, as I've been dealing with some personal stuff as of recent.

And only 6 hours later, this turned into one of the more chaotic E-Skip sessions I've had since July 10 of last year! The MUF reaching above 160, over 150 unique E-Skip logs, multiple Canadian stations, and other stations swirling everywhere for about an hour really makes this a very special day in E-Skip for me! I don't think I can log everything in a single (or even multiple) posts for this day. But nonetheless, this was indeed a very impressive session and a beautiful sight to behold.

I will post some of the highlights in this posts as attachments here. '73!
