  • unID ch 59

Around 5 AM today while watching XET-6, and XHREY-12, I see the color bars with XHLAR-57 at the bottom of the screen. At the same time I changed the channel on my 13" Sanyo to ch 59 (which I rarely ever go that high up)and there were color bars there also, but without call letters. The pic was so faint that it was hard to see much color. The only thing I've found in the vicinity would K59IL Beaumont. Not exacly the path I was pointing to however. The only thing I've found in Mexico was a USstream of Mexico TV59, which I don't really think thats it.

That is interesting, Mike. Maybe I should check for that one the next time tropo is in from the south.

It's easy to forget, but I need to check analog >ch 51 more often, as there *are* some Cuban TV stations there. Back around March I bagged 53 (Multivision) & 66 (Canal Habana) from home.

Yeah I also need to keep an eye on XHSAW-64 in Monterrey, as Cantu's site shows it having an ERP of 1275 Kw compared to XET @ 75Kw which comes in seemingly all the time, should be attainable.

Mike, definately check for XHSAW-64. Back in the days when the tropo was better in north Louisiana than it is now, XHSAW-64 was received every so often.

I have to hook up my Presidian PDR-3222 to check for UHF NTSCs (the old Emerson 872 only had 4 mems for Us, and I can't access them with the replacement remote, never mind trying to change them with the 872's 1/8"-square painfull slewing tuning buttons ) I wasn't even aware that Monterrey had a Ch 64!
