    Hi Randy,

In the 91.1 clip, "Conexion 649 Radio" is said at 00:09 and "en todo Guadalupe" at 00:33. This is XHPGUA in Guachochi, Chihuahua. See: https://www.conexion649.com/.

Conexi?n 649 ain't XHPGUA — it's actually a pirate in Guadalupe y Calvo (another town that starts in GUA)!

It's a weird one, too. It was the only pirate to take the now-departed Central FM newscast. One April 30, 2020, article suggests it is owned by Grupo Bustillos Radio — which owns XHPGUA-FM (plus XHPCHO-FM and a pair of social stations, XHURI Urique/Creel and XHBOC Bocoyna/San Juanito).

GyC does not have very much in the form of local radio. The only authorized station there is XHGYC-FM, whose operational status is uncertain but which may have existed prior to being awarded, and repeats XHDAB-FM in Hidalgo del Parral.

Speaking of pirates, the 98.1 is one in Chihuahua Capital, a Christian station called Union Radio. https://www.facebook.com/unionradiomexico

The 99.3 says "JL FM 99.3: Joyas Vivas" ("Living Gems"). XHJL-FM Guam?chil Sin. has a program called this that runs from 9–11pm.

Sorry about the confusion regarding the 91.1 clip.

I had found this Facebook post that said that XHPGUA was Conexion 649, and assumed it was true:

            Well that's interesting...

And outright wrong, since XHPGUA is definitely not in Guadalupe y Calvo. Though the ownership connection is enough to make me raise a few eyebrows.

              Raymie,

You are correct about the pirate. The distance of 50 mi between the towns was what led to the confusion on my part. I though the tower was somewhere in between.

I took a listen at https://www.lapatronaradio.com.mx/ra...hochi-91-1-fm/ for a TOH ID, and XHPGUA goes by "La Magia del Amor" and not "Conexion 649".
