Well, this Sporadic Es opening on Tuesday 22nd August 2023 wasn't really expected. It extended all the way up to 144MHz and lasted at least one hour on 87-108 MHz for me here at 54 degrees North near the border between England and Scotland.
I caught Radio Laghout from Algeria on 87.6 MHz with PI code 2403 at 1738 UTC, a distance of 2315km using just rabbit ears aerial indoors. 70 kW power
Radio Chief on 87.7 MHz also from Algeria, distance 2102km, 70 kW
IB3 radio on 88.6 MHz, from Spain, distance 1711km, 2 kW
Catalunya Musica on 88.4 MHz from Spain, distance 1414km, 1 kW
These last three stations had no RDS decode, but were confirmed by matching with live audio from FMlist links in real-time.
