AM DX Iceland to Alberta

Last night at 11pm I logged on to my favorite WebSDR on the west coast of Iceland (BjargtangarSDR) looking to hear WCBS or WBZ but found something unexpected.

I had a news station on 880 that at first I thought was WCBS but then I got multiple IDs of Global News Radio 880 which is CHQT in Edmonton.

Later on I found a strong country music station on 840 that eventually IDed as CFCW in Camrose, AB (SE of Edmonton).

Both of these are 3000 miles from the Iceland RX.

Around 11:30 I had news on 680 mentioning the provencial police and a strong country station on 930. I've attached the unid files on the 930 station.

2250 WXKS 1200 Boston
2303 WLIB 1190 New York, gospel music and ID which I didn't get the chance to record.
2305 WBZ 1030 Boston, really strong
2314 WEEI 850 Boston, sports talk
2322 WTIC 1080 Hartford, ID and Todd Feinberg promo, strong
2328 WWKB 1520 Buffalo, sports talk about the Buffalo Bill. Loud hum to the signal.
2334 WWVA 1170 Wheeling with preacher.

You get that far north and there's definitely a lot of action westwards across the north like that. From Newfoundland we have done quite well through to BC. And transpolar to Japan, both Koreas, etc... Bet that is a fun SDR to work...
