Looking for recommendations for a decent portable radio for FM. My RadioShack DX-398 (a Sangean ATS909 clone) just doesn't cut it. I currently use an SDR but that's really clumsy to take to the Lake Michigan shoreline. RBDB required, decent AM/SW performance would be a plus. Thanks.

If you look on Amazon for "TEF6686", several sellers should pop up. TEF6686 is a radio chip with amazingly selectivity and the sellers have added necessary parts to put this chip into a box to make an actual radio. These sell for a pretty wide range of between $100-$200, but at the heart are all the same radio receiver. Good luck! -

The TEF6686 is a game changer. I can get stations right next to my Cincinnati locals 24/7/365.
This was the model that I ordered August 8 2023
