Can You ID FM stations from PI ID's?

So I got the Goozeezoo branded TEF 6866 Radio. When Dxing FM stations, I'll often see a 4 character code like 5D36 in the PI section on the radio.

So what can I do with that 4 character code? I tried Googling the characters and nothing comes up. I tried Googling the characters and "RDS" and nada.

So is there anyway you could ID FM stations from PI ID's?

Hi, when using FMlist website, from the MyFM tab you can enter the frequency heard, then the PI code, and it will tell you the station if already in its very extensive database.

For North American listings, you can also use the WTFDA database ( https://db.wtfda.org ). For only the US and Canada, another alternative is https://radio.feralfox.net/tools/rds.php.

Another note here -- you may occasionally find PI codes which don't match up to a station. "Bogus' PI's can be generated from a station's encoder, or sometimes from your receiver's decoder.

And one more thing - if you run into a PI code beginning with 'D' that could indicate a translator station. Those can be looked up here: https://picodes.nrscstandards.org/

At db.wtfda.org you can find both PI to callsign and callsign to PI code converters. It is the same as the converter on feralbox. Click on the DB Help tab on the upper left side of the page and you will find it half way down the help page. No need to go to another site for the converters. We have both.
