    California DXer Logs NOAA Weather Station in Hilo, HI

    A potential world-record reception of a NOAA Weather Radio station occurred as a tropospheric duct formed between the islands of Hawaii and Southwestern California. This duct allowed the reception of WWG76 in Hilo, HI. 2,335 miles distant. See the video of the reception here:

    I'm pretty sure that's a world record -- we're talking the equivalent of double-hop Es on NWR, and it would be like receiving Charleston, SC from the other direction.. I could imagine what FM might've looked like at the same time.

      There have been documented 144 mhz, 432 mhz and commercial FM broadcast from HI to CA in years past. But I think NWS radio is a first.
