Woke up this morning to some nice, surprise tropo to the south-southeast. It was the 8:00 am hour EDT and I noticed the APRS Tropo Map showing a red blob from Florida to my area and into the Carolinas. The first thing I noticed unusual was the format being played on 103.3 which was a pop-AC type. I usually expect to hear Atlanta's V-103 if I'm pointed south. Come to find out it was WQGA Waycross, Georgia at 371 mi/ 597 km. Tuning around also led me to log 101.7 WAVF Hanahan, South Carolina and 104.5 WRFQ Mount Pleasant, South Carolina both at 297 mi/ 478 km. The station that remained longest and had the most solid signal was 103.3 WQGA Waycross. It was around noon when they finally faded completely. Other closer stations also made their way in but nothing unusual.
