Hey yall
I was sifting through my old IQ recordings yesterday, and found the ones from 26 MAY 2021 where I got my legendary catch of WBVM, Tampa. At around 0005 UTC, 10 minutes or so after getting WBVM, I found a rock station on 94.5 playing a metal song "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie. After logging and putting down most stations from that timeframe, ES activity was mainly coming from east TX. After looking around that area for any relevant rock station on 94.5, and even extending to the other gulf states, the only thing I could find was Rock 94.5 WFLF, Parker FL.
Now granted I did check my sigs for RDS confirmation first, but even though the audio should have been decent enough at times for a potential decode, i couldnt get anything out of it. the signal was fairly 'low looking' in intensity compared to other ES stations coming in much stronger, which suspected me to think this was 2x ES. After 0005, 94.5 switched back to KRUF.
Fast forward to this morning, I get a message back from WFLF that the song I heard is confirmed to be on their station playlist, so it is a great possibility this was them.
Though I like to have something solid as RDS or a call ID, I think getting a personal response saying this is more than likely them, along with other factors of the opening such as also getting WBVM, I feel this acts as an official confirmation of reception.
Distance was found to be 1935 miles, making this my second FL catch. Cheers everyone!
