All the extra OKC+ TV subchannels

** OKLAHOMA. RF 13, May 18 at 0238 UT, three of the four OETA channels
are black except for lower-right bugs, i.e. they are getting no
programming input to put out, -2 World, -3 Create, -4 Kids - while -1
is nominal with main channel movie! Still so for a few minutes, but by
0245 check, they are all back. Storm is hitting OKC, maybe partial
power outage or satellite dishes disrupted.

** OKLAHOMA. I`ve been intending to survey all the sub/channels of the
OKC TV stations, as the lineups keep shifting - indeed I run across
some ``channel`` with names new to me. This is not via the rooftop
antenna, but rabbit ears on the second floor which I have very
carefully positioned for best/reliable reception of OETA RF 13. This
means that some other OKC channels don`t decode without messing with
    the r-e which I don`t want to do: mainly KWTV 9 RF25, KSBI 52 RF23.
BTW, this handy dipole dates from my OKC era 1954-1961y, when they
were quite sufficient for local reception. No UHF loop included. These
names are read off the PSIP display, not from on-screen bugs which are
often different or variant! And note the capitalization and
punxuation, which I have copied exactly. This was accomplished around
    0240-0315 UT May 18:

    RF27:
    4-1 KFOR DT
    4-2 ANT-TV
    4-3 TRUCRM
    4-4 DEFY

    RF7:
    5-1 KOCO-HD
    5-2 KOCO-ME
    5-3 [skipped]
    5-4 Story
    5-5 Nosey
    5-6 getTV
    5-7 Quest

    RF15:
    14-1 TBN-HD
    14-2 Merit [with boxing match?!]
    14-3 Inspire
    14-4 ONTV4U
    14-5 POSITIV

    RF17: [Enid`s only]
    17-1 K17JI-D [WRONG! FCC says it`s K17JN-D]
    17-2 3ABN-PR
    17-3 3ABN-DD
    17-4 3ABN-ES
    17-5 3ABN-KD
    17-6 3ABN-PH
    17-7 3ABN-IL
    17-8 [skipped]
    17-9 3ABN-RL Audio only
    17-10 3ABN-NR Audio only
    17-11 Radio74 Audio only

    RF24:
    25-1 KOKH
    25-2 Charge!
    25-3 TheNest

    RF25:
9-1 News9 [really KWTV, CBS affil.]
    9-2 News9 N [as in Now?]
[on roof antenna; and nothing else]

    RF29:
    30-1 KTUZ
    30-2 QVC
    30-3 HSN 2
    30-4 QVC-2
    30-5 H&I
    30-6 StartTV
    30-7 MeToons

    RF33:
    34-1 KOCB
    34-2 ROAR
    34-3 Comet
    34-4 Dabl

RF??: needs further investigation. There is an OKC area transmitter
altho KUOK is supposedly ch 35 in Woodward.
    36-1 KUOK

RF19: tuner remembers when KAUT was ATSC 1.0 but cannot tune now that
    it`s ATSC 3.0: 43-1, 43-2, 43-3, 43-4.

However alternating virtual 43s go to different RFs!:
43-1 KAUT-DT RF27 like KFOR which owns it
    43-2 RewTV RF24 which is competitor KOKH`s!
    43-3 Mystery RF24!
    43-4 COZI RF33 which is KOCB`s!

RF18: breaking up but I manage to copy:
    62-1 ION
    62-2 Bounce
    62-3 CourtTV
    62-4 MOVIES!
    62-5 BUSTED
    62-6 GameSho
    62-7 ShopLC
    62-8 HSN

One might compare with rabbitears.info (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

    #2
TV logs to Enid OK, May 19-June 3, 2025

** OKLAHOMA. A bit of area tropo visiblizes a couple more channels to
explore, May 20 at 0440-0445 UT:

    RF23, OKC:
    52-1 KSBI-HD
    52-2 BOUNCE
    52-3 LAFF
    52-4 GRIT
52-5 ION+ [why isn`t this with ION on RF 18??]

Also the STB remembers some alternate virtuals: 52-1 and 52-2 leading
to RF51 where of course there is no signal any longer.

RF28: which is KTPX-TV Okmulgee, Tulsa market; compare to OKC RF 18 in
previous report, some match, but not all on KOPX.
    44-1 ION
    44-2 [skipped]
    44-3 CourtTV
    44-4 MOVIES!
    44-5 Mystery
    44-6 GameSho
    44-7 QVC
    44-8 HSN
    (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Tornado season means OKC TV stations blow away a lot of
network programming, for often continuous storm coverage. May 19 at
    2233 UT, KFOR `4` RF 27 did join NBC Afternoonly News a bit late;
while KWTV `9`, RF 25 shunted CBS Afternoon News to its substation
KSBI `52` RF 23 Cable 16. KOCO ABC and KOKH Fox also have substations
but I`ve yet to find them shunting major network programming to any of
those. KFOR could also do that, to KAUT. Or extremely important
preëmpted shows can be played in the nightmiddle for recording, such
as Jeopardy on KFOR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Some area tropo affects UHF TV, May 21 at 1455 UT. Bad
signal on RF 20 briefly decodes with News on 6, which is KOTV Tulsa,
and after tuning around I get same on RF 26, which is primary, but how
was I seeing same on 20? Rabbitears.info reminds us that RF 20 is
KQCW, 19-1, which is a substation of KOTV. Checking KQCW program
schedule, yes in fact they put News on 6 on KQCW during that and
several other hours. KOTV news stream audio is also on 1170 kHz, now
renamed KOTV too, ex-KTSB, ex-KFAQ, ex-KVOO. And 1170 also spews IBOC
    QRM above 1180, ``jamming`` R. Martí.

Otherwise around 15 UT May 21: NO signal on 17, not a bit on the
``meter`` from local Enid K17JN-D misnamed K17JI-D. Either it is off,
or totally QRMed by DX, such as KTEN Ada, OK`s only full-power on 17.
Later in afternoon when tropo has burned off, still zero on 17, such
    as 2330.

RF 29, KTUZ signal is BAD, unusual, must be DX QRM. But there are no
other full-powers in OK or KS per FCC LMS. BTW, City of License
Shawnee for KTUZ is meaningless, as it`s really part of the NE OKC
antenna farm, sharing the very same tower with all these TV and FM:
    https://www.rabbitears.info/tower.ph...e&asrn=1253490
And how can 27 KFOR-TV be only 55 kW ND, while 29 KTUZ-TV is 1000 kW
ND? Normally roughly equal signals here (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

`Samantha Brown`s Places to Love` on PBS/OETA Create channel is
in a marathon including this episode:

Route 66 - Missouri to Oklahoma --- Samantha starts her trip with
a view of the St. Louis Arch and visits Ted Drewes Frozen Custard,
famous for its thick desserts. She meets author Michael Wallis, who
shares insights on Route 66. Exploring Cuba, Missouri, she admires
colorful murals and the Osage Trail Legacy monument. Crossing the
Arkansas River, she stops at the Uranus Fudge Factory. In Carthage,
she learns about a little-known Civil War battle before heading to
Springfield, the official birthplace of Route 66. In Kansas, she
visits Gearhead Curios, a unique pit-stop, then meets a joyful
business owner at Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios in Tulsa. Finally, she
reflects on the Tulsa massacre at a memorial before learning why Tulsa
is known as the Route 66 capital.
